Old Copies of a Girl who Loves Ads

Urrmmm, so in 300 level, one of my favorite lecturers ever, a woman in her forties who taught with so much grace, composure and intelligence; planted in me a love for advertising; copywriting especially. I remember how much I fancied and maybe still fancy copywriting. I would wake up in the middle of the night and scribble copies that came to me in my dreams in case I forgot them when I awoke the next morning. I didn’t take any chance at all. Lol.

So I would write and write copies for imaginary brands that seemed easy to write copies for. So I wanna share with you guys some of the copies I wrote when my love for ads still burned. Now laziness, intimidation and lack of trust in my copywriting abilities has made me abandon the craft. I recently took a course in “Advertising onTelevision: from Concept, Copy to Storyboard and Production” and I totally enjoyed it! I even had an ‘A’ in the course!

Anyway let’s get down to business. Here are some of my old copies and don’t make fun of pleaseeeeeee.

So I wrote those for bleaching/cleaning liquid brands like “HYPO”.

Those were written for minty chewing gums like ” Clorets”. Hope you guys aren’t laughing???

These were for men perfume brands.

This for a mattress, “Mouka” Foam as seen.

This I wrote for the chilly “Premier” bathing soap. I wanted to do something better than their lame “Cooler than Cool” copy written by so-called professionals. Seriously how lame and grammatically incorrect is that line? My lecturer would have totally bashed such line from any of her ad students.

This for phones with strong battery (Like Techno).

These were like campaign messages for unity and love amongst people.

This was an attempt at antiracism. I know it’s funny. Don’t laugh.

This was like a Valentine copy for Jewellery brands (a necklace in this case) who want to draw in men to purchase stuff for their baes.

This was for morning beverages like “Lipton”.

This was like a campaign message against domestic violence.

And this for earphones!

So how was it guys?????? I know you guys had a good laugh or a smirk here or there but I want to know how you honestly felt about them. What do you think??
