A Musing: Rainfall

When I was younger, anytime it rained, all I could think of was the phrase: weather for two.

You see, I’m a hopeless romantic, and anything that warrants coziness, warmth, and cuddling such as the rainy weather, makes me think of intimacy and romance.

These days, however, it seems reality has made me a little less disillusioned with the rain. Now, more than wanting to be wrapped in the warm and affectionate arms of a lover, I just want to be tucked in bed, free of the worries, pressures and anxiety of work.

I just want my boss to announce on the group chat: You guys don’t have to come to work or do any work today. It’s raining hard, so rest.

Lol.

Clearly, that’s not the case. Rainfall is now bittersweet to me, guys. It now holds a far, much distant promise of what could be, rather than what is or would ever be.
